Well, honey, Math 110 is probably called that because it's an entry-level math course. They could have called it Math 101, but they wanted to be a little extra and make it seem like you're stepping up a level when really, you're just dipping your toe in the math pool. It's all just numbers and equations at the end of the day, nothing to lose sleep over.

MATH 110 is a college algebra course designed to provide you

with the fundamental skills that are necessary for success in all

subsequent math courses offered at UNC-Chapel Hill. We will

emphasize the study of polynomial and rational functions,

exponential and logarithmic functions, and solving equations

and inequalities. An important purpose of this course is to

strengthen your skills in basic algebra and in the manipulation

of functions. We will also help you develop your ability to

describe the general and specific behavior of a given equation

or function by graphing. Perhaps most importantly, this course

will help you strengthen your problem-solving skills in a

variety of mathematical contexts
