The number of chairs around a dining room table depends on the size of the table. Tables can fit anywhere from two chairs and more. Round tables may fit more chairs comfortably than square or rectangular tables.
it depends on how many chairs and how long and tall or short and small the chairs are
Knowing how many chairs and people will comfortably fit at each table is an important part of party planning. Why? Because you don't want your party guests jammed in like sardines in a can! Here are is a party table seating guide. You can fit 4 to 6 chairs at a 48 inch round table. The next table size, a 60 inch round table can seat 8 to 10 and a 72 inch round table will fit 10 to 12 people.
Yes. It would leave 12 inch of overhang all around.
You should be able to fit 4 people comfortably around a 60 inch round table. You could fit 6 people but they will be close to one another.
You can comfortably sit 6 at a 54 inch round table.
A table which is 90 inch around its outside (circumference) is 28.648 inches (to 3 dp) across (diameter).
Table linen size will depend on the drop you need. For a 5 foot diameter (60 inch) ROUND table and using a 90 inch ROUND tablecloth your drop would be 15 inches all around the table. For a 5 foot diameter (60 inch) SQUARE table and using a 85 inch SQUARE tablecloth your drop would be 12 and a half inches all around.
That would have roughly a 9'' drop all the way around the table.
Somewhere around ten people.
No matter what the charts tell you, you have to consider the width of the chairs. Today's dining chairs are huge by my standards and if you're not careful and just follow a chart, you may be playing musical chairs at dinner time. If you're at home, do an old trick and lay out newspapers on the floor the size of your table in question then place your chairs around the paper table outline. Don't forget about the pedestal. The charts say 8-10 people for a 60 inch table so I would back off and do 6-7...again, depending on the width of the chairs.
