Last time I left Ghana, the cedi was selling at 3,400 for US$1.00. At that rate, US$30 would have bought you (30 x 3,400) = GHC 102,000. Recalling that job, I guess I wasn't too surprised when I Googled the rate today (8-25-09) and found it now at 14,865.3 ! So today, 30 bucks buys you (30 x 14,865.3) = GHC 445,959 . May I offer you a tip ? Buy only what you think you'll need while you're there. You can always buy more if you need it, but selling cedis back for dollars when you leave .....
