The shape does not affect the density:
density = mass / volume = 50.2g / 5.0 ml = 10.04 g/ml
The density is simply the mass divided by the volume. In this case that is 50.2 g/5.0 ml = 10.04 g/ml
If you know the mass and volume then the shape does not matter - as long as it is not a hollow object. The density is 10.04 g/ml.
Water Displacement Method?
method usede to figure the volume of an irregular shaped object
Partition (or divide) the irregular object into summation of regular objects and then calculate the volume.
Determine its mass using a balance and determine its volume using water displacement. Then divide the mass by the volume to get density. Refer to the related link below for more detail.
Bulk density = dry weight / volume, then by knowing the dry weight and bulk density we can calculate the volume.
Density = (mass) divided by (volume)regardless of the substance, or the shape of the sample.
First you get the object mass by weighing it.Then you get its volume by immersing it in a scaled water container and see the increase in water volume which gives the object volume.Then you divide the mass by the volume to get the object density.
Water Displacement Method?
density is mass per volume. First weigh (mass) the key, then to find it's volume, place it into a container with liquid and measure how much volume is displaced.
Measure the volume of the object which is same as the volume of the displaced liquid in which that sinks. And measure the mass of the same object from a weighing machine. then use density = mass/volume

You can dip the irregular solid in a water or other suitable liquid. This is how, you can measure the volume of the solid. The mass can be measured by weighing scale. Mass/volume = density. It is easy to measure the mass and volume of the liquid. First measure the mass the container. Then add the liquid to it. You will get the mass of the liquid. Then measure the volume of the liquid. Use the above formula to calculate the density of the liquid.
Density is weight divided by volume. Measure the weight (with a scale), calculate the volume (which is easy to do if the foam is rectangular in shape - you might even want to cut out a rectangular piece, if your foam has an irregular shape), and divide the weight by the volume.
Partition (or divide) the irregular object into summation of regular objects and then calculate the volume.
Not always easy. Since density is defined as the mass of a unit volume of material,you would measure the volume of the rock by putting it into a container half filled with water and then measure the volume change.
