How can you do your homework if you don't understand math?

First, know you are not alone; many people struggle with math.

Second, it's important to make hard things into games. Instead of saying, "Oh it's too hard!" think of ways to make it fun. For example, lots of daily activities involve math. For example, let's say you have a goldfish bowl. Use a measuring cup to fill up the fish bowl (make sure you use the right kind of water!) If you play hop scotch, jump rope, or play Jacks you can use counting in the game.

If you have even harder math to do, ask your teacher for ideas of math games.

It's also important to practice, practice, practice! When you go to the store, count and add prices with just your mind (yes, it is hard at first!). Spend an afternoon in your neighborhood estimating then measuring things--- a square in the sidewalk; the length of a mailbox; the length and width of your front porch, the door, a window... estimate how tall your friends are then measure everyone's height (shortest person gets a candy bar); or make up other games.

Get friends together for Math Contests. Each person must work out the same problem and whoever gets the right answer the fastest wins.
