I am not going to give you the answer that wld be too easy, but I will give you a website that I have referred my friends daughter to that has helped her greatly with algebra.

Evaluate the following expression to 4*(12.25-4)/(9+2)
15 - sqrt(36) = 15 - 6 = 9
You evaluate the powers of 10 and a exponent of positive 4.
Mutiply the digits and add the powers and so (4*10^4)(2*10^5) = 8*10^9

Evaluate means to "find the value" of. It is similar to the old question, "what is 10 plus 4?" Evaluate (10+4) should evoke the the same answer.
Unfortunately there is no expression to evaluate!
You evaluate the power of the power first. For example, 4 to the power of (3 to the power of 2) is 4 to the power of 9 which is 262,144
12 x 9 = 108
