all you have to do is find the half of the given number.

EXAMPLE:

85/4 x 8/17

you have to 'cancel' 85 and change it to 5

you have to 'cancel' 4 and change it to 1

then cancel 8 and change it to 2

then cancel 17 and change it to 1

then the answer would be 10/1

because you do 5x2=10; 1x1=1

then 10x1=10 so, 10/1 ( :

Correction cancellation is taking common factors out of the problem such as 85/4 x 5/32

so how many times can 85 go into 5 1 time so 5 becomes 1 and how many times can 5 go into 85 17 times so our new problem is 17/4 x 1/32 but since 4 and 32 can go into each other we have more work so how many times can 32 go into 4 1 time and how many times can 4 go into 32 8 so know finally our problem is 17/1 x 1/8 then you can multiply from there I'm not going to finish the answer in cause this happens to be your homework question
