Hi:

First need to know one of four things

1. The circumference

2. The area

3. The diameter

4. The volume (If it a sphere )

If you know the circumference than using C/(2*pi) = R will give you the Radius

If you know the area than

R = sqrt (A / (2*pi)) will give you the radius

If you know the diameter than D / 2 = R will give you the Radius

If a sphere than (3/4*pi)^(1/3) = R

will give you the radius

Ex:

C = 25.13274123

pi = 3 1415926535

What is the radius?

Answer:

R = C/ (2*pi) so:

R = 25.1327412/ (2*3.1415926535)

R = 25.1327412/ 6.283185307

R = 4

I hope that helps

The answer depends on what information you have.

There are formulae that link the radius to the diameter, circumference or area of a circle.

There are formulae that link the radius to the diameter, circumference (equator), surface area or volume of a sphere. Furthermore, since the volume of a sphere is directly proportional to its mass, the mass of a sphere made from a material of known density can also provide the necessary starting point.

If you have the diameter, D , of a circle :

r = ( 1/2 ) ( D ) <-------------------

If you have the circumference, C , of a circle :

C = ( pi ) ( D ) = ( 2 ) ( pi ) ( r )

r = ( C ) / ( 2 ) ( pi ) <---------------

If you have the area, A , of a circle :

A = ( pi ) ( r )^2

r = ( A / pi )^1/2 <-----------

You need the shape and information about area, circumference, or volume to find the radius.
