The hundredths place is two decimals to the right of the decimal point, so to determine the nearest hundredth you have to look at the number that is 3 places to the right of the decimal point. If this number is 0-4, round the number in the hundredths place down, or if it is 5-9, round it up. Since in this case the thousandths place (which is 3 digits to the right of the decimal) is 9, we would round the hundredths digit up to 10. Since we can only have one number per digit, we change the first 9 to a 0 and change the 1 to a 2.
