You don't 'solve' it, because there's nothing in the question that needs to be solved.

The 'solution' of an equation is the number that 'x' must be in order to make the

statement true, but there's no statement in this question. There's only an expression

that stands for a number. The number it stands for depends on what 'x' happens to be.

Your teacher may have assigned you to do something with this expression, such as

(x-3) / (x6) = (1 / x3) / (x6) = 1 / (x3 x6) = 1 / x9 = x-9
