That depends upon the transportation used, when the 10 miles are travelled and where the 10 miles are.

The 10 miles I used to cycle to centre of town in 35-40 minutes would take 1 hour or more on a bus, but 10 miles along a motorway in a bus is going to take around 10 minutes.

10 miles on a train (from my local station to a central terminus) can take about 30 minutes for a stopping train, or 11 minutes for a fast one. An inter-city 125 would take 4 minutes 48 seconds to cover 10 miles at top speed, and the SNCF TGV at top speed takes 3 minutes.

Switching to aircraft, at [top] cruising speed an Airbus A380 or Boeing 777 will cover 10 miles in just over 1 minute; Concorde (when in service) at top speed would cover 10 miles in 27 seconds.

It depends on where in you are travelling. On the Japanese shinkansen (bullet trains) it could take around 3 minutes. Commercial aircraft are also public transport and on these it would take around 1 minute.
