To find this you could use the acronym scale

K H D U D C M

kilo, hecto, deci, unit, deca, centi, milli

you start at your prefix and move to your next, each move to the right is times ten where as each move to the left is divided by 10

Starting at unit (in this case is liters) we move 3 to the right to get milliliters, therefore 1000 milliliters=1 liter
