The milli- (m) prefix means 1/1000 = 10⁻³

The Giga- (G) prefix means 10⁹

→ 1 Gm ÷ 1 mm = (1 × 10⁹)m ÷ (1 × 10⁻³)m

= 10⁹ × 10³ = 10¹²

→ There are 1,000,000,000,000 mm in 1 Gm.
