It's not silver. Cents are struck in zinc and then copper-plated.

If your coin was dipped in acid to remove the plating it's considered to be damaged and is worth only 1¢

However, if it is a cent that accidentally did not go through the plating process at the Mint it could be worth as much as $80-$100.

You'll need to have it appraised by a dealer who specializes in error coins.
