To convert square feet to running meters, you first need to know the width in feet of the area you are measuring. Then, you multiply the square footage by 0.3048 to convert it to square meters. Finally, to convert square meters to running meters, you divide the square meters by the width in meters. This will give you the length in meters needed to cover the area.

You can convert square feet to square meters, not to linear meters. Since one foot is 0.3048 meters, square this number to get the equivalent in square meters.

Considering the calculation is for Fabric:

Items you need to calculate:

  1. Width of Fabric, in Inch (Since this is the general unit standard)

  2. Selvedge if any, in Cm

((SqFt Value) / ((Width of Fabric * 2.54) - Selvedge)/ 30.48))/3.28

2.54 - Inch to Cm conversion.

30.48 - Cm to Ft conversion

3.28 - Ft to Mtr conversion

Example:

Converting a fabric width of 60" and no selvedge, whose SqFt value is 18.56.

((18.56) / ((60 * 2.54) - 0)/ 30.48))/3.28

= 1.13 RMT
