The browser used for posting questions on this site is rubbish. It is quite useless for mathematics since it strips out most symbols so that we cannot tell what the question is meant to be. There is no equality sign in the question and so no equation. We could try to guess but in some cases that is not possible and then we may as well make up our own questions and answer them!
It's not an equation if there is no equal sign. In answers.com, you need to type "equals", since several special symbols are eliminated in questions.To check whether a number is a solution to an equation, replace every instance of the variable ("x") in this case) with the number, do the calculations to simplify both sides, and see whether both sides evaluate to the same number.
Without an equality sign the given terms can't be classed as an equation and so therefore no solution is possible.

That all depends.Is it:ln (2x+9) = ln (5x)If it is, the solution can be found by solving 2x+9 = 5x, in which case the answer is x = 3.
x = -5
x+2x+14=5x+2.......... Given 3x+14=5x+2.............. Combine like terms 3x+12=5x.................. Subtract 2 from both sides of the equation 12=2x........................ Subtract 3x from both sides of the equation 6=x............................ Divide both sides of the equation by 2
3x-5
The solution of this equation is the value of variable 'x' for which L.H.S.= R.H.S. The given equation is: 5x+2x+5+1-x=18 6x+6=18 Adding -6 on both sides, we get 6x=12 Dividing both sides by 6, we get x=2 Solution is x = 2.

It is a mathematical equation, usually written like this: 5x - 7 + 2x = 3x - 2 + 4x
It is an equation and the value of x is 2
The given expression has no solution but it can be simplified to: 5x-1045
5x+2x=7x2x + 5x = 7x
2x plus 5x simplified is 7x.
7x + 4 = 2x + 5Subtract 4 from each side of the equation:7x = 2x + 1Subtract 2x from each side:5x = 1Divide each side by 5:x = 1/5 = 0.2
5x + 4
