A Prime number can only be divided by itself and 1 to give answers which are whole numbers. 125 can be divided by 125 and 1 but it can also be divided by 5 and 25 so it must be a composite number.

It is a composite number because it has more than two factors.

If it has any more factors in addition to '1' and '125', then it can't be a prim.

The factors of 125 are: 1, 5, 25, and 125.

It's composite.
