No. 1/6 is not more than 6/8.

Although the larger denominator (8 rather than 6) indicates smaller parts (eighths rather than sixths), there are moreof those parts, or eighths (the numerator 6) than there are sixths (just 1).

If we convert them to the same denominator, this is obvious.

1/6 (times 8/8) = 8/48

6/8 (times 6/6) = 36/48 which is much larger.
