I think it should be 11. If you draw a diagram, a rectangle total of 8 unit. She used 4 units, which is half of the diagram, at mall. Then taking out 1 unit of the remaining unit for the movies.

3 unit left which is equal to 6 as she spent 1 on bus ride and 5 left when she reached home. So, 3unit = 6

1 unit = 6/3

= 2

4 unit(at the mall) = 4*2

= 8

Total expenditure = 8 (at the mall) + 2 (at the movies) +1 (on the bus ride)
