x=3+y ; x+y=-11

plug 3+y in for x in second equation

(3+y)+y=-11

isolate y

y=-7

plug back into either original equation

x=-4

well if you think about it, what numbers all can you think of that equall 11.. ( figure those out i dont wanna write it all lol) and then use those and minuse things from that there you go the asnwer is: 7 and 4 ( i have proof from a math program too) ( sorry if i make no sense)
