ISO 9002 is an outdated standard referring to quality assurance for companies that did not have product design.

The relevant standard is now ISO9001:2000 which is a standard for quality management for all service and production industries.

ISO 9001:2000 is part of the ISO 9000 family of standards that covers the combined 9001, 9002, and 9003 standards. It was later on updated into ISO 9001:2008 standard where the existing ISO 9001:2000 requirements and changes intended to improve the ISO 14001:2004 consistency were resolved.
