Significant figures rules:

If it's a whole number like 325, there are 3 sig figs.

If it's a whole number like 320, there are 2 (zero doesn't count here).

If it's 320. (with the decimal), there are 3.

Zeroes after the decimal number don't count. (.23400 has 3 sig figs.)

Zeroes to the left of the numbers do. (.00234 has 5 sig figs).

If you've got a combination like .0023400, there are still only 5 sig figs.

Something like 37192 would have 5 sig figs. So would .00001. So would 95.002.

One hundred dollars and zero cents: 100.00 has five significant figures. In this case the zeros are significant (telling how many tens, ones, and cents (10-cent and 1-cent))
