Nothing. A number can't be less than -5 and equal to -5 (or less than, and equal to, any other number, for that matter) at the same time. When you compare two real numbers you have exactly three options:

* The first number is less than the second number

* The first number is equal to the second number

* The first number is greater than the second number

Exactly one of the three options will be valid for any pair of numbers.
