All you have given is a rectangle which I presume encloses the composite shape. It is impossible to give the area of the composite shape other than to say it is less than or equal to 8 sq units.

To work out the area of a composite shape, split it up into areas which you can work out (eg squares and rectangles) and sum the area of all the area.

How do you work the height out with the area and the base is given?

If the shape in question is a triangle, then Area = 0.5 * Base * Height So Height = 2 * Area / Base

Rule for finding the area of a parallelogram?

The rule for finding the area of a parallelogram is a simple equation of A=bh. For this equation, the A is area, b is base, and h is height. The area of a parallelogram is equal to the shape's base multiplied by the shape's height.

What is the relationship between the height and base area?

There is no relationship, in the sense that you can have any base are with any height. For a prism shape (if the horizontal cross section is always the same as the base), the base area times the height is equal to the volume.

Area of a parallogram?

The area of a parallelogram is just the base times the height. Caution! The height is not the length of the slanted side on the left or right side of the parallelogram. The height is the distance from the top of the shape to the bottom of the shape measured along the perpendicular (perpendicularly). Area of a Parallelogram = Base times Height

How do you find the length of the base when the area is given?

It depends upon the shape. For example, if it is a parallelogram, then divide the area by the height to get the base.

How does the formula of the area of a circle relate to the volume of a cylinder?

The volume of a cylinder is its height times the area of its base. And the area of its base is the area of a circular shape.

What shape do you take base times height to get the area?

A parallelogram. A rectangle is a special case with all angles 90 degrees, but same area base times height

How do you calculate the base area if the volume and the height are given?

The answer will depend on the shape that you are considering.

Why is the area of a rectangle base times height?

A rectangle is a good, simple shape to begin with. The area of a rectangle is equal to the product of the length of its base and the length of its height. The height is a segment that is perpendicular to the base. For a rectangle, the base and height are often called the "length" and the "width", and sometimes the height is referred to as the "altitude."

Surface area of a 3D shape?

legnthXwidthXheight Top is close, but only for a rectangular prism :(... It is actually (base area) X height. For pyramids, it is 1/3(base area) X height.
