The greatest common multiple of any set of numbers is infinite and not very practical for solving problems. Generally, we look for either the greatest common factor or the least common multiple. To find them, it is necessary to factor the numbers.
2 x 3 x 3 = 18
3 x 3 x 3 = 27
3 x 3 x 5 = 45
To find the GCF, select the common factors.
3 x 3 = 9, the GCF.
To find the LCM, combine the factors, eliminating duplicates.
2 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 5 = 270, the LCM.
27 and 18
The LCM of 6, 9, 18, and 27 is 54. Multiples of 6 are 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, and so on Multiples of 9 are 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, and so on. Multiples of 18 are 18, 36, 54, and so on. Multiples of 27 are 27, 54, and so on So the LCM of 6, 9, 18, and 27 is 54.
9, 18, 27 and so on.
The factors of 18 are:1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 18The factors of 27 are:1, 3, 9, 27The common factors are:1, 3, 9The Greatest Common Factor:GCF = 9
The least common multiple of the numbers 27, 36 and 18 is 108.
The greatest common multiple of any set of numbers is infinite.
The greatest common factor of 18, 27, and 78 is 3. The least common multiple of 18, 27, and 78 is 702. The factors of 18 are: 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 18 The factors of 27 are: 1, 3, 9, 27 The factors of 78 are: 1, 2, 3, 6, 13, 26, 39, 78 The common factors are: 1, 3 The Greatest Common Factor (GCF) is: 3
Common Multiples are multiples which are common to both numbers So Multiples of 9 are 9, 18, 27, 36 etc... Multiples of 27 are 27, 54, 81 etc... you can work out the least common multiple as 27 We can see that 9 is a factor of 27 so all multiples of 27 are a common multiple with 9. But as there is no upper limit we can not work out a greatest common multiple as they bigger they get the closer they get to infinity! You tend to work out Greatest Common Factor and Least Common Multiple with regards numbers.
The Greatest Common Factor of 18, 27, and 30 is 3.
The least common multiple of 9, 18, and 27 is 54.
The greatest common multiple of any set of integers is infinite.
The greatest common multiple of any set of integers is infinite.
The LCM of 18, 27, and 45 is 270
The greatest common multiple of any set of integers is infinite.
The lowest common multiple of the numbers 18, 24 and 27 is 216.
There is no greatest common multiple as whatever number is claimed to be the greatest, the lowest common multiple of them (216) can be added to get an even greater common multiple.
The least common multiple of two numbers is their product divided by their greatest common factor. Since 7 is a prime number and 27 is not a multiple of 7, their greatest common factor is 1. The least common multiple is 7 x 27 ÷ 1 = 189.
