The set of rea numbers is infinitely dense. What this means is that there are infinitely many numbers between any two numbers - however close together they might be. For example, between 1 and 2, there are:1.000000000001

and so on.

There are infinitely many numbers between any two given numbers. To get the number exactly in the middle - that would be one number between the two numbers - calculate the average of your two numbers.
