Ether meters or centimeters would work. If you measured in meters, however, you would want to measure the value to at least one or two decimal points - which is equivalent to measuring to the nearest centimeter.

Well what I use is a trusty tape measurer! Before you measure the bed though, you should know how much space you have. It would be horrible to get the wrong size bed!
