The least common multiple and greatest common factor of any number is itself. But that would require the number to be 360 as well as 3 - and that is not possible.

When a number is a multiple of another the GCF of the numbers is the greatest common factor?

The GCF of the numbers is the greatest common factor no matter what their relationship is. When one number is a multiple of another number, the GCF is the smaller number.

What is the greatest common multiple of 90 and 108?

The greatest common FACTOR of 90 and 108 is 18. The LEAST common multiple is 540. There can be no greatest common multiple since double that number will be a greater common multiple.

What is the gross common factor of two numbers when one number is a multiple of the other?

When one number is a multiple of the other, the greatest common factor of the two is the smaller number.

What is the greatest common factor of 71 and 7n?

71 is a prime number, so its only factors are 1 and 71. Unless n is a multiple of 71, the greatest common factor is 1. If n is a multiple of 71, the greatest common factor is 71.

What is the greatest common multiple of 66 and 143?

The greatest common multiple is an infinite number and not very practical for everyday use. The greatest common factor of those two numbers is 11.

What number and 8 have the greatest common factor of 1 and the least common multiple of 24?

3

How are greatest common factor and least common multiple different?

The greatest common factor, or GCF, is the largest number that can go into a set of given numbers evenly. The least common multiple, or LCM, is the smallest number that a given set of numbers can go into evenly.

What is the greatest common factor of two numbers when one number is multiple of the other?

The other number.

What is the lowest common multiple of 30 and the greatest common factor of 3?

There is no answer. There cannot be a lowest common multiple of a single number, such as 30, because "common multiple" means a multiple that two or more numbers have in common. Likewise, there cannot be a highest common factor of a single number, such as 3, because "common factor" means a factor that two or more numbers have in common.

What is the greatest common multiple of 72 and 180?

There is no greatest common multiple of two (or more) numbers: whatever number you come up with as the greatest common multiple I can always add their lowest common multiple to get an even higher common multiple. If you meant the LOWEST common multiple (the least number that both divide into with a remainder) then lcm(72, 180) = 360. If you meant the greatest common FACTOR (the greatest number that divides into both), then gcf(72, 180) = 36.

Why are you able to find the greatest common factor but not the greatest common multiple?

because there are infinite multiples of a number. ex:2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20...etc

What are least common factors of 26 and 18?

The LEAST Common FACTOR of any set of numbers is 1. There is the Least Common MULTIPLE which is the smallest number which is a multiple of both. For 26 and 18 the LCM is 234 There is the GREATEST Common Factor which is the greatest number which is a factor of both. FOr 26 and 18 the GCF is 2.
