Assuming your equation looks like this

8p = -176

It is solvable without any elimination of numbers

p = -176/8

p = -22

I'm going to guess that you copied it from your math book and forgot to add additional information.

Q: What number needs to be eliminated to solve the equation 8p equals -176?

Without an equality sign the given terms can't be considered to be an equation but if you mean 3d = -81 then the value of d works out as -27 by eliminating the 3 and dividing it into -81

x is an unknown number/fraction which needs to be solved.

If this is the equation of a circle, the answer is 11, except that there needs to be a plus sigb between the x2 and the y2

No because right after the x escaped the evil bag of numbers he went off and found the 3 and the tried to form and equation by using minus but what they really needed was and another number and an equals sign... i mean its obvious an EQUAtion needs an EQUALS sign without an equals its just an expression. x and 3 were obviously very dumb... just like you:)

x is an unknown number/fraction which needs to be solved.

What is the question ? This is the equation of a line in 3 dimensions. Every point on the line satisfies the equation. There's no question here that needs an answer.

Is v a variable? This isn't an equation. For there to be a value for v, there needs to be an equals sign somewhere.

If this is the equation of a circle, the answer is 11, except that there needs to be a plus sigb between the x2 and the y2

That's not an equation, it doesn't ask a question, and there's nothing about it that needs an answer. It's an "expression". Its value depends on the value of 'x', and every different value for 'x' gives the expression a different value. If you want to write an equation ... that asks a question ... it needs an 'equals' sign ( " = " ) in it somewhere.

Yes: it is already in terms of y so nothing needs to be done.

The equation is N = 4*M.
