Let the two numbers be a and b.

Then, ab = 220, and a + b = 29 ......thus we can write b = 29 - a.

Substituting for b in the first equation gives : a(29 - a) = 220 : 29a - a2 = 220

Thus, a2 - 29a + 220 = 0.

Solving this using the quadratic formula gives a = 14.5 ± (i√39)/2

Then [14.5 + (i√39)/2] + [14.5 - (i√39)/2] = 29

And, [14.5 + (i√39)/2] x [14.5 - (i√39)/2] = 210.25 -[(i√39)/2]2 = 210.25 - (i2x 39/4) = 210.25 + 9.75 = 220.

The two numbers are conjugate complex numbers, [14.5 + (i√39)/2] and [14.5 - (i√39)/2].

What is 150 percent of 220?

To find 150 percent of a number, multiply the number by 1.5. In this instance, 1.5 x 220 = 330. Therefore, 150 percent of 220 is equal to 330. Or another way of solving these types of percentages, called whole plus percentages, is simple. 100% of any number is the number itself (100% of 220 is 220) and 50% of any number is exactly half of the said number (50% of 220 is 110) and then add the two together (220 + 110 is 330).
