Short answer, it's usually a requirement to finish high school.Algebra can help you solve all sorts of problems, and it will be very useful, or more than that, essential, if you later continue a career in science or engineering (which is basically applied science). On the other hand, if you continue with a non-scientific career, it is most likely that you won't use much algebra in your daily routine.

I do not know your situation or age or why you study algebra, but algebra is tremendously useful in all areas of mathematics and virtually all sciences. Unless you are certain that you will never want to study math or science in any form and know that you want to make any business computation, you need to learn the basics of algebra: how to manipulate algebraic expression, set up and solve equations and graph the common relation. If you are young, you have far more time to learn things like algebra than you will have when you are older and have to earn a living.
