None whatsoever.

You might find the distributive property useful when trying to calculate 39*74. Of course, if you are familiar with the 39 times table or the 74 times table, the distributive property is a complete waste of time! But somehow I doubt that level of arithmetic competence.

If you have an expression that only involves numbers, you can indeed use "order of operations" to simplify the expression. However, you also have to work with expressions (and equations) that involve unknown quantities ("variables"). In that case, you can often use the distributive property to help you solve such equations.

Is the distributive property the same thing as the order of operations?

no it's actually totally different. the distributive property divides up the problem and solves it. and it can answer problems that order of operations sometimes can't. just because you get the same answer doesn't make them the same problem.

What is the distributive property the commutative property the associate property and the identity property?

The COMMUTATIVE property states that the order of the arguments of an operation does not matter. In symbolic terms, for elements a and b and for the operation ~, a ~ b = b ~ a The ASSOCIATIVE property states that the order in which the operation is carried out does not matter. Symbolically, for elements a, b and c, (a ~ b) ~ c = a ~ (b ~ c) and so, without ambiguity, either can be written as a ~ b ~ c. The DISTRIBUTIVE property is a property of two operations, for example, of multiplication over addition. It is not the property of a single operation. For operations ~ and # and elements a, b and c, symbolically, this means that a ~ (b # c) = a ~ b # a ~ c. The existence of an IDENTITY is a property of the set over which the operation ~ is defined; not a property of operation itself. Symbolically, if the identity exists, it is a unique element, denoted by i, such that a ~ i = a = i ~ a for all a in the set. For example, you can define addition on all positive integers which will have the commutative and associative properties but the identity (zero) and additive inverses (negative numbers) are undefined as far as the set is concerned. I have deliberately chosen ~ and # to represent the operations rather than addition or multiplication because there are circumstances in which these properties do not apply to multiplication (for example for matrices), and there are many other operations that they can apply to.

How do you explain distributive property?

Distributive property can be explained by taking the number(s) inside the parentheses () and multiplying them by the number(s) outside the parentheses. For example: 2(5+7)=10+14=24Explanation: since the distribution property comes first in the order of operations, you would distribute the two (2) to the five (5) and seven (7), then add the multiplied numbers. Here's a harder one: 9(3x+24x)=27x+216x=243xExplanation: same as the one before. Distribute, then add.

Property you can use to add or multiply numbers in any order?

There are three basic properties of numbers: Associative, Commutative, and Distributive. The commutative property says that b + a = a + b and a * b = b * a.

What is an of associative property?

It is the property of operations such as addition or multiplication which state that the order in which the operations are carried out does not affect the result. That is, (A + B) + C = A + (B + C) and so, without ambiguity, you can write these as A + B + C.

Does the distributive property use order of operations?

Yes. The distributive property is multiplication. You have 2(4 + 5), you are basically multiplying (2 * 4) + (2 * 5), which is the third step down in the order of operations. PEMDAS Parenthesis Exponents Multiplication / Division (from left - right) Addition / Subtraction (from left - right)

What is the difference between Identity Property Commutative Property Associative Property Distributive Property?

These are properties of algebraic structures with binary operations such as addition and/or subtraction defined on the set.The identity property, refers to a unique element of the set with special properties with respect to an operation. The commutative property states that the order of the operands does not matter. There are many algebraic structures where this property does not hold. The set of numbers with the operation subtraction or division do not have this property. The associative property states that the order in which a repeated operation is carried out does not matter. The distributive property is applicable when there are two binary operations defined on the set.

What is the distributive property in multiplication?

when you do distributive property you share whatever is outside the parentheses with what is inside. I'll give you an example: 4(7-6) step1:multiply 4 by 7-4 times 6 (you are sharing the number outside parenthese,4, with the number inside the parentheses,7 and 6. remember to bring down the symbol which is minus. step2: you should get 4*7-4*6. this is you answer. you can check this by... writing the oringinal problem and then write the answer. do order of operations and you should get the same answer on both sides. 4(7-6)=4*7-4*6 4 (1) =28- 24 4= 4 THAT IS CORRECT! you have just completed the distributive property.

What is the process that distributes the operation evenly to all of the numbers in parenthesis?

It's called the Distributive Property or the Distribution Method. The Distributive Property is an algebra property which is used to multiply a single term and two or more terms inside a set of parentheses. Take a look at the problem below. 2(3 + 6)Because the binomial "3 + 6" is in a set of parentheses, when following the Order of Operations, you must first find the answer of 3 + 6, then multiply it by 2. This gives an answer of 18. 2(3 + 6)2(9)18

Is m plus n equals n plus m disributive property?

No, the equation m + n = n + m does not represent the distributive property. The distributive property is typically written as a(b + c) = ab + ac, where a, b, and c are numbers. It describes the relationship between multiplication and addition. The equation m + n = n + m is known as the commutative property of addition, which states that the order of addition does not affect the sum.
