XIIC

The table of Roman Numerals

M = 1000

D = 500

C = 100

L = 50

X = 10

V = 5

I = 1

The rules for composing Roman numerals is ;- Largest value to the left followed by the lesser values to the right. e.g. MDCLXVI = 1000 + 500 + 100 + 50 + 10 + 5 + 1 = 1666.

Multiples of the same value are shown as the same repeated letter.

e.g. MM = 1000 + 1000 = 2000

If a lesser value (one letter only) is shown to the left of a larger value it means subtract.

e.g.

IV = 5(V) - 1(I) = 4 or MCM = 1000 - ( 1000 - 100) = 1000 + 900 = 1900.

The current years of 2023 is MMXXIII.

Next year , 2024 is written as MMXXIV

So your question of 'XIIC' is incorrect. because you have three lesser values to the left of the greater value. ; only one symbol allowed.

The 'C' is in the wrong place. Try CXII = 100 + 10 + 1 + 1 = 112.

It is NOT read as (10 + 1 + 1 -(100) = 12 - 100 = 88.

'88' in Roman numerals is LXXXVIII.

Hope that helps!!!!
