Generally speaking, VERY generally speaking that is, a cubit is 18 inches. Just to confuse things, some "experts" believe there were all sorts of cubits depending on the location and time period, ranging anywhere from 15 or even less to 21 inches. But generally speaking you can say 18 inches. That will give you an approximate idea of the size of pretty much anything whose dimensions are given in cubits. P.S. - I've found that a "me cubit" (from my elbow to the tip of my middle finger) is an extremely useful unit of measure when a) there is no more reliable measuring instrument handy, or I'm too lazy to dig one up, and b) when nobody but me ever has to know the exact measurements of a project, and c) when pinpoint accuracy is not of life-and-death importance. I wouldn't use it for construction, but it's great for landscaping.
