In biblical numerology the number 1 is Unity while 7 is completion or perfection. 8 then is 7+1 and is said to be 'perfect unity or perfect completion.' It has nothing to do with luck in Scripture.

However, the 'Rule of Eights' in statistics/betting states that if you lost 7 times, the 8th time should be a winner.
