The mean is just the average of the numbers.

It is easy to calculate: Just add up all the numbers, then divide by how many numbers there are.

In other words it is the sum divided by the count.

You add the numbers together than divide by how many numbers you added together.

Example:

Seven numbers:

12, 56, 97, 4, 13, 32, 10

Sum = 224

224/7 = 32 (which happens to be one of the numbers but that is just a coincidence!)
