The s2 statistic is used to test to test whether the assumption of normality is reasonable for a given population distribution. The sample consists of 5000 observations and is divided into 6 categories (intervals). The degrees of freedom for the chi-square statistic is:

What is a warranted assumption?

A warranted assumption is an assumption that is supported by evidence or justification, making it reasonable or valid to accept as true for the purpose of an argument or discussion. It is based on logical reasoning or empirical observations.

What is warranted assumptions?

A warranted assumption is an assumption that has evidence and reasonable interpretation of this evidence to support it. But, it's still an assumption and should only be used as a guide in finding the real facts. A warranted assumption should not be acted on if any harm will come of it.

Can a entire population be measured not just a sample?

Yes it can; given that the population number is reasonable and it can be done in a reasonable amount of time.

A reasonable conclusion based on observations?

facts or assumptions. Lake Minnetonka contains a buffer, but Upper Kintla Lake does not.

Can you assume that the time machine will be invented?

On the contrary, it would be much more reasonable assumption that no time machine is going to be invented.

What is test statistic Why do you have to know the distribution of a test statistic?

Suppose you have a theory about some random variable and you want to check if your theory is correct. You take some observations and summarise them using a test statistic. This may be their mean, maximum, a measure of spread - whatever. You want to check if the result that you got is consistent with your theory. You face a problem, though. Because the variable has a random element to it, it is always possible that the result that you got was pure chance. So you work out what the probability distribution of that test statistics would be IF your theory (hypothesis) were true. You use this distribution and the value of your test statistic to decide how likely your result was if your hypothesis were true. If that probability is very small, you conclude that your theory is not reasonable and you reject your hypothesis. Otherwise, you continue with the assumption that your theory is not unreasonable.

Which is the best fish and has the best life?

I guess the question is very subjective. From my observations I think the Manta Ray has a reasonable life.
