First you should know the materials you are allowed to use. Most catapults that are built for school projects use a plastic spoon and a mouse trap. The catapult blueprints can be found on sites at wiki answers. now below are the steps to making a good catapult!!! # Get all your materials together ( mousetrap, block of wood or shoe box, glue etc....) # Draw out a sketch of a catapult. # after you draw your sketch you need to start by glueing your mouse trap to a block of wood or a shoe box. # put your catapult basket on the mouse trap properly. # next you need to put your rubber bands on the catapult basket. # now you need to tie your string to its propar place. The catapult dates back to medieval times when men of the age realized they could launch large objects a great distance without much effort. In more modern times now we guns, bombs, etc. Catapults were rather installed in castles or mobile with 4 wooden wheels, two on each side. The catapults were used to destroy castles or two kill other people in other troupe. Catapults were able to do this because of their size and the strength of their catapult. The stones would launch, in distance, meters away.
