Yes, indeed he did. Archimedes dads name was Phidias. It was believed that his dad was related to the second king of Syracuse. But, never did Archimedes, or his father have any power over the Syracuse people at anytime, nor did the family believe in having servants/slaves. But for one thing they were very wealthy. No one knows where the wealth came from, but that might have something to do with the second king of Syracuse relation. He might of sent over money to ensure his family good wealth over the years they were alive in.
