Archimedes was born in 287 BC and died in 212 BC. He found a lot of pi's numbers ;) yea um that's good but here are a few more fun facts bout him:)1. He was very tall when he turned 13 5'12.2. His brain capicaity rate was 8th grade when he was in 2nd.3. His math level was beyond all exceedatations he was taken to private classrooms at the high schools.4. He and his father were very poor but his father's knowledge of astronmy made them 10 cents an hour when having to teach children.5. His hair went blonde as soon as he was 3 but it was brown like his mothers when he was born.6. He was so overworked that he got grey hairs in his second year of college in Egypt.7. All he and his father ate was fish and bread because fruits-spices-and vegstables were to pricey.8. Even though he only ate fish at Egypt he was known as the capitol of math knowledge they gave him fruits-spices- and vegstables which he took to his father.9. His dream was to start a school for all children where they learn engeneering-physics-mathmatics- and astronmy:)10. Egypt was known then as the intellect capitol of the world.these r all i thought of off the top of my head:)

Archimedes invented the Archimedes's screw, which raised water. He estimated pi by drawing circles around hexagons and discovered the principle of displacement. Archimedes of Syracuse was a Greek mathematician, physicist, engineer, inventor, and astronomer. He is regarded as one of the leading scientists in classical antiquity. Among his advances in physics are the foundations of hydrostatics, statics and an explanation of the principle of the lever. He is credited with designing innovative machines, including siege engines and the screw pump that bears his name. Modern experiments have tested claims that Archimedes designed machines capable of lifting attacking ships out of the water and setting ships on fire using an array of mirrors.
Archimedes is generally considered to be the greatest mathematician of antiquity and one of the greatest of all time. He used the method of exhaustion to calculate the area under the arc of a parabola with the summation of an infinite series, and gave a remarkably accurate approximation of pi. He also defined the spiral bearing his name, formulae for the volumes of surfaces of revolution and an ingenious system for expressing very large numbers.
Archimedes was taught by many and influenced by many too, but his school teachers made quite a big impact on his intellegence and got him interested in Physics and other subjects. One of his teachers was Dr John Gibbins and in later life was apparently one of Archimedes' good friends.
Archimedes spended his time in war
It is believed that Archimedes was a younger contemporary of Plato, so they likely did not know each other personally. However, Archimedes was influenced by the works of Plato and other Greek philosophers through their writings and teachings.
Archimedes was born in Syracuse, Sicily and probably spent most of his life there.
In a word Archimedes influences "everyone" if he had not made his discovery there would be no people today trying to add technology to his invention so he has helped millions and trying to add all that technology that has made many jobs. That's who i think Archimedes has influenced.

Archimedes of Syracuse was born c. 287 BC (in Syracuse). Not much is known about his life, modern day scholars still have no idea whether he was married or had children. He may have studied in Alexandria (Egypt). Archimedes died in c. 212 BC, during the Roman invasion of the second punic war.Although he didn't invent the lever, Archimedes was the first to accurately describe how it worked.
Archimedes invented Archimedes' screw.
