Solipsism is the belief that a person's own mind is the only definite thing that exists. Basically, a solipsist believes that everything else in the universe (everything from galaxies to other people's minds) is just a thought that's created in their imagination.

What is Locke's problem with solipsism?

John Locke's thinking style using bodily senses is similar to methodological solipsism, perhaps solipsism wasn't invented, I swear it's similar to something else, it feels that way, like Epicureanism is similar to something else but I don't know what it's similar to. John Locke's problem with solipsism: in his teaching style it's faulty, just use of senses, and thinking, with no peace of mind and no happiness when it's supposed to be a rational and happy philosophy, his philosophy which seems to be solipsism is flawed, I tried his philosophy before, it leaves no confidence for the individual, people are going to bully you for following it, it never happens with methodological solipsism, strange enough, because during people's hate for the existence of my actions I have the confidence to feel happy despite people bullying me.

How do you get over solipsism?

You just live your life how you lived it before solipsism entered your mind. Without fear and wondering and questioning. Because even if solipsism existed, what would you be able to do about it? Nothing. But I can assure you that solipsism is a fallacy. I've had a fear of this before, but then realized I was just waisting time by worrying about it. I've learned I need to enjoy life while I have it, and accept everything how it is. Solipsism will never be able to be disproven, but it is highly unlikely that in your own mind, you've made up an entire world with the ability to sense things 5 different ways. Where would that mind have come from anyway? There has to be some form of reality. It's important to not get to caught up in thought, to interact with others as much as possible, and to just get a grip on reality. Best wishes.

What is the difference between solipsism and solipcism?

There is no difference between "solipsism" and "solipcism"; they are likely just spelling errors of the same term, which refers to the philosophical idea that only one's mind is sure to exist or the view that the self is all that can be known to exist.

I am a 13 year old girl who about a month and a half ago came across solipsism. I have not been able to break free of it and I feel scared and alone. I don't want to be like this.?

Just recognise that solipsism is a philosophical position. It is entirely hypothetical, and does not change the facts that the world around you is happening as you see and hear and feel it.

What is the philosophy where only your mind exists and everything is only in your imagination called called?

Solipsism is the philosophical belief that the only thing that can be known to exist is one's own mind, and that everything else, including the external world and other minds, is either uncertain or does not exist. It is essentially the idea that reality is subjective and only exists within one's own consciousness.
