remove some of your antifreeze, disconnect fitting at end of top radiator hose, remove thermostat and scrap off gasket and clean both surfaces, check new thermostat in 180 degrees water to make sure it opens and closes, then put your gasket sealent on both surfaces and your thermostat on the same way it came off and bolt it back on and add more antifreeze and crank it and make sure its not leaking.
If you follow the lower radiator hose, it connects to a pipe on the engine block. Follow that pipe and it goes towards the rear of the motor (about 8 inches) and turns left into the block. There are bolts there that need to be removed that hold the housing in. The thermostat is there. Hard to get to....good luck.

The thermostat is located in the lower radiator hose. Unhook the hose from the engine and it is right inside the hose. Be careful to line it up right when you put new one back in. Also the thermostat is one of the more expensive ones out there I paid 25$ for mine at V I P.
