In a mathematical approach, you can use a proportion. The easy way is to do what I'm doing now though, which is basically a proportion.
There are 5280 feet in 1 mile. There are "x" feet in 3 miles. To get from 1 mile to 3 miles, you multiply the number of miles by 3 (1 mi. * 3 = 3 mi.). You do the same thing with the feet (5280 ft. * 3 = 15840 ft.).
So there are 15840 ft. in 3 mi.
Hope this helps. :D
3 miles equal 15840 feet.
Three miles = 15,840 feet.
It equates to 3 miles and 564.2 feet.
2 miles 5,307 feet.
1 mile = 5280 feet5280 ÷ 3 = 1760 feet
15940 feet equal to 3 miles
It is 26400/(1760*3) = 5 miles
5,280 + 27 = 5,307 ft.
It equates to approximately 4.97 miles
One mile is equal to 1760 x 3 = 5280 feet. Therefore, 168960 feet is equal to 168960/5280 = 32 miles.
There are 5280 feet in one mile. Therefore, 3 miles 200 feet is equal to (3 x 5280) + 200 = 16040 feet.
One mile is equal to 5,280 feet. Using multiplication, one can deduce that three miles are equal to 15,840 feet.
