66.

Each of the 12 members shook hands with the 11 other people. That would make 12*11 hand shakes. BUT, the A shaking B's hand is the same event as B shaking A's hand so all these handshakes are double-counted. The actual number is half that ie 33.

If you are more familiar with combinatorial mathematics, the answer is the number of combinations of two obejects from 12, which is 12C2 = 12*11/(2*1)

Definition of UNIT set?

The unit set of x is the set whose sole member is x. The unit set is to be distinguished from its member: for example, the unit set of the set of days of the week has one member, but that member is itself a set that has seven members.

What is Difference between local variable and data members or instance variable?

A data member belongs to an object of a class whereas local variable belongs to its current scope. A local variable is declared within the body of a function and can be used only from the point at which it is declared to the immediately following closing brace. A data member is declared in a class definition, but not in the body of any of the class member functions. Data members are accessible to all member function of the class.

Can numbers be repeated within a set?

To repeat numbers in a set is redundant- it does not change the set since a set is determined by its members. Fir example {1,2,3} = {1,1,2,2,3,3 } . In the second case you are merely repeating yourself. You are saying "I am thinking of a set in which 1 is a member and 1 is a member and 2 is a member and 2 is a member and 3 is a member and 3 is a member." Repeating yourself does not change the set.

Are the whole numbers closed under addition if so explain?

Yes because being closed under an operation means that when the operation is performed on members of a set the result is also a member of the set, and when any two [members of the set of] whole numbers are added together the result of the addition is also a whole number which is, unsurprisingly, a member of the set of whole numbers.
