This is pretty simple, but not well documented. The Scott's standard broadcast spreader setting is based on the number of pounds per 1000 square feet. For the product below, the application rate is 11.5 lbs/5000 square feet. This is a tricky question since there are different kind of scott spreaders and the lesco products doesn't list the settings for all of the scott's spreaders. I use the standard Scott spreader. What I figured out is that the spreader number represents the amount of pounds of product per 1000 sq ft. Example: if you want to apply 4lbs/1000 sq ft of product then use setting 4. If you want to apply 8lbs/1000 sq ft then use setting 8. Always remember not to go over the maximum amt of product per year. This is important when applying lesco pre-emergent and post-emergent since it can affect the PH of the soil. I also found this chart.
