What is conduit wiring?

Conduit wiring is synonymous to wires in a pipe.

What is PVC 20mm conduit?

PVC is a material, Poly vinyl chloride - a type of plastic. 20 mm is a size, probably inner diameter of a cylindrical pipe. Conduit means that it's used to run something like other wires, or a thinner pipe, through.

What is a thin-walled steel raceway of circular form with a corrosion resistant coating for protection of wires or cables?

In electrical wiring it is a pipe called a conduit. Wire and cables are run through for protection of the wiring.

When do you derate wires in conduit I know the code says more than 3 current carrying conductors but is there a length of conduit run when you should start to derate?

There are two things here to keep in mind. If you are trying to add more conductors to an existing conduit run use the cross sectional area of the conduit to see if more wires can be fitted. The second thing that's relates to length is the voltage drop at the load. To size the conduit work backwards from the load amperage to size the wires. If a long distance is involved a voltage drop calculation will be needed. Then select the conduit size to accommodate the wires recommended for that load amperage. The length of conduit run is not brought into the equation on de rating wire size it is always about keeping the voltage up at the load end of the run by increasing the wire size and selecting the proper conduit size for that wire.

Can you use existing PVC conduit run from basement to 8th floor for 120v circuits for chillers?

The simple answer to your question is yes. But there are limits to how many wires can be in any conduit, and the current carrying capacity of the conductors can be affected by distance, ambient temperature, and how many conductors are contained in the same conduit. Other things to consider are, Can you physically fit the wires in there? Would it be easier to run a new conduit? Do you have the manpower necessary to get the work done?

Can you run two 2 pole single phase circuits in the same conduit?

Yes, this only adds up to four wires. The wire sizing is dependant on the amperage of the two single phase loads. Remember to calculate the conduit fill of the four wires to make sure that you have the correct size conduit for the installation.

Can you run 110 and 220 volt circuits in the same conduit?

Yes, 120 and 240 volts can be run in the same conduit.

Can 480 volt electric be run in emt conduit?

Yes 480 volt electric wiring can be run in emt conduit.

Can you mount a flat screen tv on an exterior wall?

Yes. The only complication might be that, if you need to run the wires to the TV inside the wall and the exterior wall is insulated, it may be difficult to fish the wires through the wall cavity.

Can a three phase circuit be installed in the same conduit or in different conduits?

The conductors of any three phase circuit must be run in the same conduit. If the circuit requires a neutral, it must also run with the conductors in the same conduit. (If they were to be run in more than one conduit or raceway, the circuit would not operate properly.)

Can you run supply pipes hot and cold and drain pipe under electrical panel?

As long as the wires are fed to the panel from above.

What size conduit for 200 amp service?

50 mm or 2 inch will handle the 3/0 wires for a 200 amp service.
