What is the difference between meters squared and square meters?

None! They both mean the same thing. For example, if your floor measures 3 meters long and 2 meters wide you would need 6 square meters of carpet. Alternatively you could say "My floor measures 6 meters squared." Five meters squared. This refers to a linear measure, five meters. It also tells what function to apply to the measure-- make a square with it. If I make a square with a five meter chain, I will end up with 25 square meters. Five square meters. This will be equivalent to five of the 25 squares that the above area contains. Quite different. If you have a floor measuring 3 meters by 2 meters and you ask the carpet guy for carpeting to cover 6 meters squared, you will get an unpleasant surprise.

How many 30cm squared tiles will fill an area of 30 meters squared?

id say 10.000

How do you convert meters to meters squared?

meters are a measure of lengthmeters squared are a measure of areaThey measure different things and cannot be directly converted. However, if you are given the lengths of, say, a rectangle, multiplying the two lengths (each measured in meters) together will find the area (measured in meters squared).

Why are the units for volume and surface area raised to different powers?

Surface area is the sum of the areas of all the surfaces of an object. When you add units, they stay the same. Since you are adding, let's say, meters squared and meters squared and meters squared, your unit is still meters squared. Volume is a measure of how much space is inside an object. To find volume, you must multiply length, width, and height. In our example, that would be meters x meters x meters. When you multiply units, they multiply to each other. So, we get meters cubed, or meters^3.

What is 18 squared as a squared root?

√182 is 18. Trouble is, that's not 18 squared. Try √3242 * * * * * Good try but not good enough! 18 squared is the squared root of 18 to the fourth power. That is to say, 324 is the square root of 104,976

285 meters euqual to how many square feet?

square feet = sqft = ft^2 meters squared = m^2 You cannot convert this because meters is a length and square feet is an area assuming that the question is supposed to say "meters squared" sqft = (285 m^2)(3.280839895 ft/m)^2 = 3067.714469 ft^2

Can a perfect square have a negative square root?

If a is any number, then a squared = (-a) squared, so one might say that a and -a are both square roots of a squared. However, the square root symbol always means the positive square root.

How many square units are in an office that is 13 by 9 units?

The answer is 117 units squared. This is figured by multiplication: 13 x 9 = 117 units2 Let's say that the office is 13 meters x 9 meters, then the surface is 117 m2

Is it correct to say the area of the house is 12 x 12 meters squared?

No, it's either 12 metres x 12 metres or 144 square metres.

What is the difference between 8m2 and 8 square meters?

There is absolutely no difference between square metre and metre square. Some people prefer to say metre square instead of square metre, but no matter what, it doesn't make a difference. They both mean a square with the dimensions of 1m by 1m. there is definitely a difference! 4 square meters would look like 4 tiles lined up next to each other ex: . . . . 4 square meters = 4 while 4 meter square would show 4 squared like this: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 4 squared = 4x4=16 Sorry i did not have blocks or tiles to use :( Yes, you are right. The amazing part is 1, whose square is the same. However, 2 meters squared would yield 4 square meters whereas 1,4142135623730950488016887242097 shall yield 2 square meters and so on and so forth with other numbers. In reverse is also true. The square root of 1 is 1 but the square root of 2 is as mentioned above. Even more fascinating is 2 whose multiplication to itself is the same as its addition to itself. It is a very special concept. No other number has the same attributes. Theory of numbers is the most fascinating study in Mathematics.

Is 96 a square number?

Not as far as integers-whole numbers-are concerned no. 9 squared is 81. 10 squared is 100. The square root of 96 (you can also say 96^0.5) is 9.797959...
