The volume of a box is given by the formula V = length(L) x width(W) x height(H).

As the base has an area of 100 sq ins then 400 = 100 H : H = 4.

If the base is square then the dimensions of the box are L= 10, W = 10, H = 4.

If the base is rectangular then the L and W could be any two numbers such that LW = 100.

For example 2 x 50, 4 x 25, 5 x 20. Note that the height remains constant at 4 inches.
