To write the numbers 0.82, 4/5, 85%, 2/3, and 7/8 from smallest to largest:

0.82 < 4/5 = 0.8 < 85% = 0.85 < 2/3 < 7/8

Note: Although the percentage is expressed as a decimal, it is still greater than 4/5, which is the equivalent of 0.8.

Convert everything to the same form ; either decimal, fraction or percentage.

Hence 082 , 4/5 , 85% . 2/3 . 7/8

In decimal form , they are 0.82, 0.80 , 0.85 , 0.6666..... , 0.875

Then rearrange 0.6666... < 0.80 < 0.82, < 0.85, < 0.875

Hence

2/3 < 4/5 < 0.82, < 85% , < 7/8

Another way, is to convert all to fractions, with the same denominator. Then compare the numerators.

Hence

The common , denominator is 600 ( 3,5, 8, 100)

Hence

492/600 , 480/600 , 510/600. 400/600, 525/600

Hence from smallest to largest,

400/600, 480/600, 492/600, 510/600 , 525/600 = 2/3< 4/5 < 0.82, 85% , 7/ 8.

The third method is to convert everything to percentages. and compare.

For myself, the easiest way, is to convert to decimals.
