Normally you can't. One measures a distance, another an area. My room is 8 feet long and happens to be 70 square feet. You can't convert.
However if you are talking about a roll of something - say paper towels, carpeting or linoleum and you know the width is fixed (say 12 feet wide) and you measure off say 2 feet of this, then you multiply the length times the width to get square feet.
You can't convert that.
A linear foot is a unit of distance. A square foot is a unit of area. The two units are therefore incompatible.
You can't. A square foot is a measure of area. a regular, linear foot is a measure of length. The two units are completely incompatible.
A linear foot measures length, while a square foot measures area. To convert linear feet to square feet, you need to know the width of the area you're measuring. For example, if you have a linear foot of 1 foot wide, it equals 1 square foot; if it's 2 feet wide, it equals 2 square feet.
You can't convert that. You can convert linear units to linear units, square units to square units, or cubic units to cubic units.
You can't, they are incompatible units. 16 foot x 16 foot = 256 square foot
To convert square feet to linear feet, you need to know the width of the area you're measuring. Divide the total square footage by the width in feet to get the linear footage. For example, if you have 100 square feet of flooring and the width is 10 feet, you would calculate 100 ÷ 10 = 10 linear feet.
The foot is a linear measurement. You cannot convert a linear measurement to an area measurement.

A linear foot is a unit of length. A square metre is a unit of area. The two units are therefore incompatible.
Same as "foot". The term "linear" is used to distinguish from square foot, or cubic foot.Same as "foot". The term "linear" is used to distinguish from square foot, or cubic foot.Same as "foot". You don't convert linear measurement to area measurement, the two are incompatible. You either convert meters to feet, or square meters to square feet. One foot is exactly 0.3048 meters; you can base your calculations on that.
